2009 Alligator Hunting

    Beginning in September, 2009, Red Bluff Lodge will offer alligator hunting! We are ideally located to hunt both using both Georgia and South Carolina waterways and have an incredibly healthy alligator population. If you are interested in an alligator adventure, please call!

2008 Turkey Harvest

    This year brought with it a beautiful and productive turkey season. The weather was picture perfect. After having 50 turkeys withing shotgun range, we fired 25 shots, killing 21 gobblers. Eight of our clients took their first turkeys this year. Capping the season off, our very last turkey taken was the biggest of all. Check out the pictures of our clients with these beautiful birds.

The Deer Gods Must Be Smiling...

Normally, we try to refrain from glorifying antlers. We do not promote Red Bluff Lodge as a big rack destination; if that is what you're after, you're better off checking out Texas or Canada. What we try to provide here is a great overall hunting experience. A fun, relaxing time with friends and family in a comfortable and hospitable setting that provides an incredible chance to see a lot of game and to take a lot of shots.

With that said- Ye-Haw, Ya'll! We have shot a BUNCH of bucks this year! Consider this - our 10-year average for our adult buck harvest is right around 50 or so. This year our hunters shot 83! Of the adult bucks taken, usually 30% are greater than 15 inches (antler spread). this year, almost 40% were 15 inches or greater, and 57% were 8-points or better. What a year!

Now maybe you can see why it has been so hard to find time to type new posts and add pictures here. Isn't that what January is for?

Hunting at Red Bluff Lodge

  • Alligator Hunting - New for 2009!
    Beginning September 2009, Red Bluff Lodge will begin offering alligator hunting. Our basic alligator package is $1,500 for a 2 day hunt and includes the harvest of an alligator up to 8 feet long. Trophy fees apply should you wish to harvest a larger alligator. Our brochure details this trophy fee schedule. Please call for scheduling and tag information.
  • Whitetail Deer
    You may harvest up to 2 bucks, 2 hogs and 1 doe per day during deer season, which runs from August 15th through January 1st. This season, the longest in the US, allows for the use of any weapon of choice during the entire season. Doe season begins September 15th and runs through the end of the season. From August 15h through about August 31st, most of the bucks harvested will still have velvet on their antlers, making for a truly unique trophy. Our daily rate for a deer hunt is $485. This rate is all-inclusive; your only additional expense will be for your South Carolina hunting license. We harvest between 300 and 350 deer per year. Our average harvest density if 44 deer per square mile. The average number of days our hunters hunt for each harvested deer is 2.2. Please call us to schedule your next deer hunting adventure!
  • Feral Hogs
    Hog hunting is hot at Red Bluff Lodge! You may harvest 1 hog per sitting, for a total of 2 per day. Hog hunting is a year-round hunting opportunity. Our hogs are feral, free range animals. The daily rate for hog hunting is $485. We harvest an average of 90 hogs per square mile per year!
  • Wild Turkeys
    Our turkey season runs from March 15th through May 1st each spring. You may harvest 1 gobbler per morning hunt, during which you are accompanied by an accomplished guide. Your evenings will be spent hog hunting on our acreage that runs along the Savannah River. Our daily rate for the turkey/hog combo hunts is $550. Our average harvested bird scores 54.69 on the NWTF scale, weighs in at 17 pounds and has a 10" beard and 1" spurs
